Subject Contact Notice IEPD

Summary

Both justice and human services agencies can use this service to publish information to subscribing justice or human services agencies. They can also use this service to subscribe and receive information from publishing justice or human services agencies. Agencies can participate as publishers, subscribers, or both. Subscribers will use this service to keep abreast of contacts their clients may have with other justice or human services agencies. The publication message includes data which identifies the publisher (i.e. agency name, phone, etc.), pertinent record identifiers for the contact (i.e. case number etc.), and a synopsis of the subject interaction.

Description

The Justice/Human Services Subject Contact Notice Service facilitates the sharing of subject information between justice and human services agencies. Agency contacts with a subject result in a publication to subscribing agencies. The SCN service utilizes both the publish/subscribe and request/response message exchange patterns. An agency that wants to publish subject contacts (provider) feeds the service with contact information. An agency that wants to be notified of subject contacts with other agencies (consumer) registers with the service. An agency wishing to receive publication messages from publishers can subscribe to the service. An agency can unsubscribe to the service at any time as well. This process involves a synchronous acknowledge or fault message returned between the service and subscribing system as well as an asynchronous response from the service to the subscribing system. Upon receiving a subject contact message from a provider system, the service forwards, or publishes the message to any number of consumer systems. There is a synchronous acknowledge or fault message returned between the service and publishing/subscribing systems.
